Sandy Point State Park
This 786-acre park on the Chesapeake Bay is celebrating 50 years. The park offers an array of recreational activities that include swimming, fishing, crabbing, boating and windsurfing. The park's beaches and picnic areas provide unparalleled views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge over the Chesapeake Bay as well as frequent passing of seagoing freighters and sailing regattas. Wildlife viewing and bird watching are favorite pastimes for many park visitors. Sandy Point's location on the eastern flyway makes it an ideal location for viewing a large variety of woodland, marsh and migratory waterfowl. Thomas Point Lighthouse
Located at the mouth of the South River. It is not open to the public. It was erected in 1875 and was one of the last manned lighthouses on the Chesapeake Bay and is now one of the few surviving screw pile offshore lighthouses still in use by the Coast Guard. It is a National Landmark.

Thurgood Marshall Memorial
Dedicated in 1996, this memorial honors the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, who served for 24 years. As an attorney, he successfully argued many cases against racial segregation before the US Supreme Court. Call 410-974-3400 for more information.

This is an early 19th century dockside building and is similar to the commercial warehouses that lined the Colonial waterfront. It served as a warehouse for Annapolis merchants who also provided a packet (water shuttle) service between Annapolis and Baltimore. It houses a model for the Annapolis waterfront in the 1750s.
