Clarysville Bridge
Built in the mid-1700s, this stone arch bridge is one of the original structures that supported the road. It is one of the few remaining along the National Road. Call 800-425-2067 for more information.

Fort Cumberland
Fort Cumberland was constructed by troops of General Braddock at the confluence of Wills Creek and the Potomac River, at the current location of the City of Cumberland, Maryland. The wood palisade fort is now gone, but occupying the site is the existing Emmanual Episcopal Church (Cumberland). This fort once marked the westernmost outpost of the British Empire in America, and was the jumping-off point for General Braddock's disastrous expedition against the French at Fort Duquesne. La Vale Toll Gate House
The only remaining tollgate on the National Road in Maryland. Historic plaque indicated the fees for wagons, animals and pedestrians to use this road. Open May – October Saturday & Sunday 1:30 – 4:30pm.

Rocky Gap State Park
ocky Gap State Park encompasses over 3,000 acres of public land for guests to enjoy. Rugged mountains surround the park which features 243-acre Lake Habeeb. The lake is fed by Rocky Gap Run which winds its way through an impressive mile long gorge displaying sheer cliffs, overlooks and a hemlock forest dense with rhododendron. A restored early 20th century train steams on a round trip through the mountains between Cumberland and Frostburg.
